General E-Mail Information
When you received your e-mail confirmation of your hosting solution you will have received the following information required to setup your e-mail software. The main support page on this website has detailed instructions on how to configure many of the current e-mail applications.
The email accounts with our hosting solutions are designed to be used as POP3 email accounts. This means that you use a computer and email software to download email from or server to the local PC. Once this has been done the email no longer resides on the server. Where required we offer a webmail interface that you can use to view any email on the server prior to it being downloaded to a PC. The webmail interface is not designed to be used for long term storage of email. We do not guarantee the backup of stored email or send messages or address book.
Mail Sever
POP3 (Incoming Mail Server): your domain name e.g. www.domain.com
SMTP (Outgoing Mail Server): in order to send mail enter the name of your dial-up ISP's outgoing mail sever.
Username: This is the username provided when taking out your hosting package.
Password: This is the password provided for the above username.
Anti Virus & Anti Spam
All our current hosting solutions provide full POP3 e-mail accounts. These accounts currently provide no Anti Virus or Spam filtering. Since these hosting solutions are aimed a business users it is better that you provide AV & Spam filtering at the point of reception. The reason for this policy is to prevent any server based solution we may use to delete or mis-identify an important email as containg a virus or spam.
