Problems accessing your email.

If you are having problems accessing your email first check that you actually have Internet access. If you have Internet access then check that your settings are correct. Click here for information on other common email problems.

Depending on your email application there are different ways to access these settings.

MS Outlook / Outlook Express

  1. Go to the tools menus and choose accounts

  2. Depending on the version of Outlook will now have a list of email accounts or the option to choose to edit an existing account. Either choose an account and click edit or choose edit existing account and then choose the email account.

  3. The next screen shows the settings for your account, the layout of this screen will depend on your version of outlook. In new version your will see the server settings and username and passwords on the same screen. In older versions these are in different tabs. Check that these settings are as per the details we emailed you.

  4. Check that Require logon using Secure Password Authentication is not ticked.

  5. If you are using your domain name as the SMTP server then on newer versions click more settings and set My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication to LO on to incoming mail server before sending mail. For older versions of outlook this is on the servers tab. Tick the tick box and then click settings to choose the option.
