Using MS Expression with our servers

To connect to an FTP host

  1. At the bottom of the Web Site view, click Remote Web Site.

  2. At the top of the view, click Remote Web Site Properties.

  3. In the Remote Web Site Properties dialog box, on the Remote Web Site tab, select FTP.

  4. In the Remote Web site location box, type the Internet address of the FTP host that you want to publish folders and files to—for example, example.com—or click Browse to locate the site.

  5. In the FTP directory box, enter the path to the remote directory of your website.

  6. Click OK.

  7. In the Connect to dialog box, to save your password, select Remember my password.

  8. Enter your user name and password, and click OK.

To set FTP application options

  1. On the Tools menu, click Application Options.

  2. In the Application Options dialog box, click the FTP tab.

  3. Do any of the following:

    • To set the FTP mode to either passive FTP or normal FTP, select or clear Use Passive FTP.

    • To set a file extension that is not already listed under Extensions to transfer as ASCII to transfer as ASCII, under New Extension, type the file extension, and then click Add.

    • To set a file extension to transfer as binary, make sure the file extension is not listed underExtensions to transfer as ASCII. To remove a file extension from the list, under Extensions to transfer as ASCII, select the file extension, and then click Remove.

    • To restore the default FTP settings, click Reset Defaults.

  4. Click OK.
