Editing a Product
- Go to the Product Tree v2.
- In the right-hand panel which lists all the categories locate the category that contains the product to be edited and click the X next to the Category Name.
- In the left hand panel you will now see the products for the selected category. Click the
next to the product name.
- A popup window will now be displayed with 4 links across the top. These are the 4 information screens for that product. Make the required changes on each screen. When you make changes in one of the 4 screens you need to select commit at the bottom of that screen to save the information. For more details about each screen see the details below.
Product
This screen has the basic information about the product. Make any required changes and then choose commit at the bottom of this screen before moving to the next screen.
Below are details of what the fields on this page are used for.
Name - This is the name of the product. It should be unique to that product so that you a identify the product when ordered. Do NOT leave this field blank as it will make editing the product in the future impossible.
Description 1 - This is a short brief description of the product. This description is used on the category page if it is used by your websites template.
Description 2 - This is the long description of the product. This description is used on a product information page if your product catalogue uses them.
More Info Page - If your product catalogue templates make use of a more information page link other than the product information pages then you can enter the full URL of the web page here.
Image - This is a drop-down list of all the images within the file manager. Choose the main image for your product.Image 2 - This is a drop-down list of all the images within the file manager. Choose a secondary image for your product if it is used by your website template.
Thumbnail - This option has 2 options you can either choose an image from the drop-down list or have the system generate a thumbnail from the large image selected above. To auto generate a thumbnail simple enter the required width in the box provided.
Base Price - This is the price at which the product is sold.

Attributes
This screen has additional attribute options for your products. Enter details into these fields in accordance to the special instructions we provide. Make any required changes and then choose commit at the bottom of this screen before moving to the next screen.

Item Attributes
If your products use item attributes we will have set the initial options.

Assigning Attribute Values to a product
- You will now see a window with the item attributes. On the left are the item attributes that can be set on
the right are the options for that attribute. Choose the attribute to set. If you need to create a new attribute then please see the instructions below.

On the right you will see any values already assigned. From the drop-down menu choose the new value to assign to the given product. Repeat this until all the values required are assigned. If you need to add new values then follow the instructions below.
- Click commit to save these changes
Creating an Item Attribute
- To add a new attribute click the "New Attribute" button. Enter the name if the attribute in the pop-up window, don't enter any product id as this is for special use only. Then click comment. You will need to close and then reopen the edit product window before the new attribute is displayed. In order for this attribute to be displayed in the product catalogue the templates associated with your product catalogue export will need to be altered. This needs to be done by us so contact us with the details of the new attribute to be added.
- You will now need to add New Values for this Attribute.
Adding New Values
If your products use item attributes we will have set the initial options.
- Select the attribute on the left that you wish to add a value to. The list on the right will now show the current values in the drop-down menu. Click New to add a new value to this drop-down menu.
- Click commit to save this value. This value will not appear in the drop-down options until the window is closed and re-opened. If you wish to add a number of values that go through the "new"button step for each value before you close and re-open the edit product window.
- You will need to close the item attributes window and re open it before you see the values in the drop-down menu.

Mata Information
Metadata are a series of hidden html code elements that are used by the search engines when indexing pages on your website. In order to improve how your product catalogue is indexed we recommend that you customise this metadata for individual product and category pages.
The next time that the product catalogue is exported this information will be used on the appropriate page.
