Linux servers are case sensitive whereas windows PC's are not. Therefore, whilst index.htm and Index.htm would be seen as identical filenames on a Windows PC, they are seen as two different files on our servers. We therefore recommend that you only use lowercase characters. We would also recomment that you only use the characters "a-z", "0-9", "-" (hyphen) and "_" (underscore). NEVER use a space, full stop, a forward slash (/) or a backslash (\).

Every website has a homepage. In order for a web server to recognise your homepage it must have a specific name. The available names which our servers will recognise are index.html, index.htm or index.shtml.
