News News Story
This is an individual news story		  

Block Fields

Field Detail
Title This is the title of the news story and it is displayed in a H1 tag at the top of the page.
Image This is the main image to represent this story
Caption This this the caption for the main image
Link If the news story should link to another web page, then enter its URL here
Date This is the date for the news article
Story This is the main HTML area of the page.

To add a news item

  1. Go to the Edit and click Add next to news.
  2. From the list of templates select News Story.
  3. Now add the details of the news item.

    For details of how to use the file selector click here.
    For details of how to use the HTML editor click here.
  4. Once you have finished, click Save Data..
  5. You will now need to Publish for these changes to appear on the website.

To edit a news item

  1. Go to Edit and expand News.
  2. You will now see a list of the news items.
  3. To edit a current item simply single click the item.
  4. Now update the details of the news story.
  5. Once you have finished, click Save Data.
  6. You will need to Publish for these changes to appear on the website.

News Item Child Content Structure

A news item has the ability to add additional child content elements.

News Story
This is an individual news story		 Audio
This is an audio element for the news story		  
Video
This is a video for the news story
Photo
This is an individual additional photo for the news story
PDF
This is a PDF document that can be added to a news story
 
Meta Data
This allows you to add mete data to a given news item

Adding a Photo, Video or PDF to a news item

  1. Go to Edit and expand News.
  2. You will now see a list of the news items.
  3. Click the news item you wish to add to.
  4. In the child elements area on the bottom of the right hand side click add.
  5. Choose either Photo, Video, PDF or Meta Data from the Popup Menu.
  6. Fill the details and then click Save Data.
  7. Repeat for each Photo, video or PDF you wish to add.
  8. You will need to Publish for these changes to appear on the website.
